Crater Lake is located
approximately 120 miles from the Oregon Caves.
Allow about 3 hours for the drive.
Jewel of the Cascades, Crater Lake
National Park is open all year long, although the lodge and camping,
and boat tours are only available in spring and summer.
Contact the park at the links below for dates and times.
Crater Lake is widely known for it's
amazing depth, intense blue color, pure water, and spectacular
views. In summer drive the Rim and enjoy one of the USA's most
unique boat tours.
The historic Crater Lake Lodge and camping are generally open
at Mazama Village, or hike some of the park's various trails
including Mt. Scott at 8,929 ft.
Winter winter brings some of the heaviest snowfall in the
country to Crater Lake, which averages a whopping 533 inches of snow
annually. The lodge is closed in winter but visitors may view the
lake, cross-country ski (bring your own equipment), and experience a
weekend snowshoe hike (contact the park for details and snowshoe
sign outs).
